Zane Watts was born March 5, 1940, to Isaac Watts and Clara Noble Watts. He proudly served in
the Army as a military police officer. He is a retired coal miner and educator. Zane influenced
many lives in our community as a leader, coach, educator, and friend. He is survived by his
daughters, Tracy Watts Daniels (Chad) and Stephani Watts (Francisco Arce); 5 grandchildren,
Zane Allan Watts, Koryn Daniels Hurd (Jared), Zachary Daniel Watts (MacKenzie), Madison
Daniels Aoki (Atticus), Brooke Daniels (Brae), great-grandchildren Berkleigh and Henley Zayn,
special niece and nephew Denise DeFevers (Colin) and Stephen Combs (Tammy), special
grandchildren, Nicole DeFevers, Austin DeFevers, Kayla Watts (Andy), and many others whom
he either coached or mentored throughout his life. He is survived by siblings Jeanette Smith, Jay
Watts (Carmie), Blanche Back (Ken), Lillian Watts, Ronnie Watts, and a host of nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Issac and Clara, wife Shirley Oaks Watts,
siblings Ishmael, Audrey, Clell, Glen, Jake, and Connie, special grandson Curtis Watts and niece
Robin Oaks.
Pallbearers: Zane Allan Watts, Zachary Daniel Watts, Robert Rios, Stephen Combs, Todd
Russell, Mitch Smith, Shane Watts, and Austin DeFevers.
Honorary Pallbearers: Chad Daniels, Francisco Arce, Arnold Wayne Watts, Dean Smith, OT
Watts, Colin DeFevers, Darrell Watts, Gary Turner, his friends from Falcon, and the Hardees
gang.
Viewing will be from 12-3 on Sunday, December 10, 2023, at Watts Funeral Home, with funeral
and graveside services to follow, Chad Daniels officiating.
