Obituary for Shirley Ann Turner Tucker
Shirley Ann Turner Tucker, age 75, of McDaniels, Kentucky, formerly of Breathitt County, beloved wife of the late Omer Tucker, passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
Shirley was born on August 28, 1941, a daughter of the late Millard and Mentie Dora (Salyers) Turner. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter, Joann Poole of McDaniels, Kentucky; two sons, Jimmie Houy of McDaniels, Kentucky; and Ted Houy of McDaniels, Kentucky; four sisters, Oma Tharp of Alexandria, Kentucky; Margaret Helen Turner of Jackson, Kentucky; Dana (Daniel Ray) Moore of Jackson, Kentucky; and Elizabeth Jean (Larry) Strong of Jackson, Kentucky; three brothers, Reggie (Wanda) Turner, Ossie (Barbara) Turner, and David (Mildred) Turner, all of Jackson, Kentucky; three grandchildren, Morgan Poole, Scott Poole, and Ashley Hornback; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends also survive.
In addition to her husband, Omer Tucker, and parents, Millard and Mentie Dora Turner, Shirley was also preceded in death by son, Scott Houy; sister, Brenda Turner; brothers, LC Turner, Herman Turner, Alfred Turner, and Jeff Turner.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson, Kentucky at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2016 with Rev. Bill Taulbee officiating. Shirley will be laid to rest in the Jackson Cemetery in Jackson, Kentucky with Scott Poole, Chris Turner, Jordan Turner, Ricky Turner, Snapper Strong, and Ossie Wayne Turner serving as pallbearers. Friends may visit the funeral home after 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2016 with special singing at 7:00 p.m.
