Obituary for Reva Smith
Reva Smith, age 88, of Jackson, Kentucky, beloved wife of the late Virgil David Smith, passed away, Monday, July 23, 2018 at Hazard ARH in Hazard, Kentucky.
Reva was born February 5, 1930 to the late Will and Mahala (Fields) Strong. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by two daughters: Pamela Ann Smith of Apoka, Florida; and Victoria Denise Ison and Anderson Daniel Combs of Jackson, Kentucky; two grandchildren: David Franklyn (Rachel) Marinelli, and Melissa Dawn (Victor) Southwood, both of Jackson, Kentucky; five great-grandchildren: Reva Cherie Smith (Sean Iacono), Barbara Lynn (Andrew) Gullett, David Dwayne Marinelli, Michael Drake (Brittany) O’Malley, and Katelyn Shae Collins; eight great-great-grandchildren: Kevin David Miller, Jason Dawn Spencer, Isabella Cherie Smith, Avery Jane Taylor Smith, Victoria Nicole Shae Marinelli, Sean Michael Miguel Iacono, Janye Lynne Gullett, and Gracie Mae Gullett; a host of nieces, and nephews; two sisters: Dora (Thomas) Gault of Ohio; and Duredith Strong of Jackson, Kentucky; two brothers: George Robert (Alice) Strong of Mississippi; and Dewey Strong of Ohio; and many other loving relatives, and friends.
In addition to her husband, Virgil David Smith, and parents, Will and Mahala Strong, Reva was preceded in death by three sisters: Margaret Bellamy, Rachel Matthew, and Annie Oaks; two brothers: Charlie Strong, and Thurston Strong.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson, Kentucky at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, 2018 with Pastor Gerald Moore officiating. Reva will be laid to rest in the Will Strong Cemetery at Saldee, Kentucky with David Franklyn Marinelli, David Dwayne Marinelli, Michael Drake O’Malley, Victor Southwood, Andrew Gullett, Jonathon Oaks, and Eddie Strong serving as pallbearers. Friends may visit the funeral home after 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 25, 2018.
