Obituary for Rev. Woodrow Davidson Sr.
Rev. Woodrow Davidson Sr., age 97, of Winchester, Kentucky, formerly of Breathitt County, passed away Friday, July 15, 2016 at the Clark Regional Medical Center in Winchester, Kentucky.
Woodrow was born on September 25, 1918 to the late Sewell and Dora (Manns) Davidson. He was an Army Veteran of World War II, a retired minister, and a retiree of East Kentucky Power Company.
He is survived by one son, Hubert (Linda) Davidson of Corbin, Kentucky; two daughters, Judy (Daniel) James of Shelbyville, Kentucky; Paula (Donnie) Watkins of Grafton, West Virginia; four stepdaughters, Bonnie (Cliff) Estill of Winchester, Kentucky; Mattie (Tim) Trapp of Tennessee; Mary (James) Huff of Tennessee; and Opal (Ralph) Dodson of Tennessee; one stepson, Chalmer (Sharon) Creech of Winchester, Kentucky; 11 grandchildren; one sister, Mary Gross of Jackson, Kentucky; and a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Woodrow was preceded in death by his wife, Millie (Creech) Davidson; also preceded by the mother of his children, Eva Mae Roberts; parents, Sewell and Dora (Manns) Davidson; one son, Woodrow Davidson Jr.; one stepson, Johnny Darrell Creech; one brother, Luther Davidson; and two sisters, Martha and Cora.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson, Kentucky at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 18, 2016 with Pastor Gary Bellamy officiating. Woodrow will be laid to rest in the Jackson Cemetery in Jackson, Kentucky. Friends may visit the funeral home after 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2016 until time of funeral services.
