Ollie James Turner, age 89, of Stamping Ground, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at his residence.
Ollie was born November 27, 1928 to the late William and Lydia Cockhan Turner. He was a retired farmer.
He is survived by his wife, Geneva Evans Turner of Stamping Ground, Kentucky; three daughters: Ruth Markin of Lexington, Kentucky; Darlene (Keith) Lavoie of Stamping Ground, Kentucky; and Lisa (Bill) Fitch of Stamping Ground, Kentucky; one son: Tommy Turner of Stamping Ground, Kentucky; one step-son: H.B. (Jeanette) Hensley of Georgetown, Kentucky; three brothers: Lonnie (Christine) Turner of Athol, Kentucky; Hick Turner of Georgetown, Kentucky; and Frank (Kay) Turner of Georgetown, Kentucky; twelve grandchildren: Eddie Hensley, Kevin Hensley, Scotty Hensley, Jason Turner, Melissa McKee, Michael Taylor, Derek Markin, Jonathan Ward, Emily Lavoie, Kayla Hatton, Billy Fitch, and Shelby Fitch; six great grandchildren: Summer Hensley, A.J. Hensley, Joshua Turner, Conall McKee, Lillian Fitch, and Layla Fitch; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, William and Lydia Turner, Ollie was preceded in death by three sons: Samuel Turner, Frankie Turner, and Billy Turner; three brothers: Richard Turner, Robert Turner, and Homer Turner; and one sister Marie McIntosh.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson, Kentucky at 2:00 PM on Friday, September 21, 2018 with Emmitt Campbell officiating. Ollie will be laid to rest in the Turner Hensley Cemetery - Lower Twin Road, in Athol, Kentucky with grandsons Eddie Hensley, Kevin Hensley, Scotty Hensley, Jason Turner, Derek Markin, and Billy Fitch serving as pallbearers. Friends may visit the funeral home after 5:00 PM on Thursday, September 20, 2018.
