Obituary for Olaf D. Turner
Olaf D. Turner, age 96, of Harrodsburg, KY, formerly of Breathitt County, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Thomson Hood VA Center in Wilmore, KY.
Olaf was born November 11, 1919, a son of the Late Sam and Maggie Deaton Turner.. He lived in Breathitt County for 89 years and moved to Harrodsburg, KY in 2009. Olaf was a Military Veteran of World War II and a Farmer.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 69 years, Mildred Turner; his loving parents, Sam and Maggie Deaton Turner; brothers, John, Willie, Offit, and James; sisters, May Gross, Grace Smith, Gladys Gillespie, and Nannie Noble.
He is survived by his children, Willard Turner of Tipp City, OH; David (Bessie) Turner of Springboro, OH; Sylvia (Larry) Moore of Harrodsburg, KY; grandchildren, Todd (Julie) Turner, Tina (David) Yeamans, Kyle (Whitney) Moore; six great grandchildren; and sister, Jean Hensley.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Hospice of the Bluegrass.
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Watts Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Watts Funeral Home Chapel with Dennis Henson, Matthew Robbins, and Ronnie Ping officiating. Burial will follow in the Jackson, Cemetery, Jackson, KY.
