Obituary for Martha Smith
Martha Smith, age 87, of Jackson, Kentucky, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2019 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky.
Martha was born on October 27, 1931 to the late Joe and Callie Deaton Watts. She was a homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband: Elvin Smith of Jackson, Kentucky; two daughters: Beth Ann (Bill) Davidson of Jackson, Kentucky and Monnie Rhea Watkins of Berea, Kentucky; five grandchildren: Charles David Napier II and wife Sandy; Amanda (Tim) Miller; Andrew (Brittany) Davidson; Jamie Graves; and Paula Moore; eleven great grandchildren: Sophia Napier; Natalie Napier; Marlee Miller; Macy Miller; Daniel Davidson; Savannah Davidson; Emily Moore; Jacob Ward; Tyler Boots; Lexie Boots; and Madison Kallenberger; one sister: Vanessa (Ed) Baker of Lost creek Kentucky; and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, Joe and Callie Watts; Martha was preceded in death by three sisters: Opal Watts; Clara McClees; and Mary McIntosh; seven brothers: Jerry Watts; Cay Watts; Wayne Watts; Virgil Watts; John Watts; David Watts; and Joe Watts Jr; one daughter: Debbie Napier and one son: Larry Watts.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson, Kentucky at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 1, 2019 with Pastor Fred Finley and Emmitt Campbell officiating. Martha will be laid to rest in the Haddix Cemetery Inc. at Haddix, Kentucky with friends and family serving as pallbearers. Friends may visit the funeral home at 5:00 PM on Thursday, January 31, 2019.
