Obituary for Lewis Herald
Lewis Herald, age 80, of Lost Creek, Kentucky, beloved husband of the late Edna Sue Brewer Herald, passed away, Saturday, October 20, 2018 at ContinueCare Hospital in Corbin, Kentucky.
Lewis was born on March 19, 1938 to the late Elbert and Louise (Noble) Herald. He was a retired truck driver, factory worker, and State employee, and a member of Drushal Memorial Church.
He is survived by two sons: Donald Gene (Patricia) Herald of Hazard, Kentucky; and Roy Mitchell Herald of Jonesboro, Tennessee; special friend, Genna Anderson of Ohio; three sisters: Mzurian Godsey of Lost Creek, Kentucky; Juanita (Ossie) Combs of Ohio; and Grace (Paul) Hickman of Lost Creek, Kentucky; two brothers: Courtney (Jackie) Herald of Nicholasville, Kentucky; and Elbert Jr. (Jan) Herald of Berea, Kentucky; nine grandchildren: William (Joanna) Herald, Edna (Jonathan) Tincher, Don Brandon (Grace) Herald, Stacie Nicole Combs, Joshua Herald, Luke Herald, Hannah Rose Mercer, Braxton Holland, and Stephanie Watts; 15 great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, and nephews; and many other loving relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, Edna Sue Brewer Herald; and parents, Elbert and Louise Herald, Lewis was also preceded in death by one son, William Ray Herald; two sisters: Ruth Herald, and Wanda Herald; four brothers: Jesse Herald, Earnest Herald, Randall Herald, and Johnny Herald.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson, Kentucky at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, October 26, 2018 with Pastors Hank Wilson and Courtney Herald officiating. Lewis will be laid to rest in the Brewer Family Cemetery at Belcher Fork, Jackson, Kentucky with Chris Herald, William Lewis Herald, William E. Herald, Roy Herald, Donald Herald, and Ronnie Lee Southwood serving as pallbearers. Friends may visit the funeral home after 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 25, 2018. Additional services will be conducted at 7:00 p.m.
