Obituary for Hugh Jackson
Hugh Jackson, age 88, of Jackson, Kentucky,, beloved husband of the late Verna Jean Combs Jackson, passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018 at his residence.
Hugh was born February 17, 1930 to the late Larkin and Gelane (Hoskins) Jackson. He was a retired employee of Fisher Body of Pontiac, Michigan and a United States Army Veteran.
He is survived by one daughter, Sharon (Gary) Ratledge of Benton, Missouri; two sons, Larkin (Cyndi) Jackson of Highland, Michigan; and Steve (Michelle) Jackson of River, Kentucky; two sisters, Carolyn Sue Brown and Anna Ruth Lee, both of Michigan; two brothers, Henry Clay Jackson and Arthur “Ozzie” Jackson, both of Michigan; nine grandchildren, Angela (Lynn) Arnett of Georgetown, Kentucky; Renee Jackson of Michigan; Rachel Jackson of Prestonsburg, Kentucky; David (Rhonda) Ratledge of Scott City, Missouri; Tom (Amy) Ratledge of Benton, Missouri; Stephanie (Will) Stephens of Bethany, Kentucky; Lisa (Brandon) Arnold of San Antonio, Texas; Valerie (Cain) Arnett of Salyersville, Kentucky; and Aaron (Brooke) Jackson of Lexington, Kentucky; 21 great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; and many other loving relatives and friends.
In addition to his wife, Verna Jean Jackson; and parents, Larkin and Gelane Jackson; Hugh was preceded in death by granddaughter, Leanne Anderton.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson, Kentucky at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Hugh will be laid to rest in the Jackson Cemetery in Jackson, Kentucky with Aaron Jackson, David Ratledge, Tom Ratledge, Lynn Arnett, Will Stephens, Tom Smith, Luke Stephens, and Bradley Geekie serving as pallbearers. Friends may visit the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 5, 2018.
