Obituary for Harvey Richardson

Harvey Richardson, beloved husband, father, and grandfather departed this earth on April 27, 2019 after a long illness. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Wanda Lee Smith-Richardson of Jackson, KY, and three children: Rena (Mark) Hamblin of Wolverine, KY; Linda (Wade) Neace of Wolverine, KY; and Harvey Jason Richardson of Jackson, KY.
Considered to be the greatest "Papaw" in the world, he is also survived by four grandchildren: Joseph (Tosha) Hamblin of Lexington, KY; Courtney (Dustin) Frazier of Auburn, AL; Tabitha Noel Neace of Wolverine, KY; and Layne Kellie Miller-Richardson of Wolverine, KY.
He is survived by three sisters: Margaret Hall of Osceola, IN; Marie (Bob) Schweisberger of Wakarausa, IN; and Rena Meade of Morehead, KY; one brother: Mack Jr. (Elesha) Richardson of Curt, KY; and one half-brother: Mackie Richerson of Jackson, KY.
Harvey is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends, including family friends, Lois and Angela Neal of Jackson, KY.
Harvey was born on December 02, 1939 to the late Mack and Kelsie Gross Richardson of Curt, KY. The eldest of nine children, he is preceded in death by his parents and two younger brothers, Raymond Richardson and Clarence (CR) Richardson.
Harvey was a veteran of the Army National Guard and a retired business owner of Richardson's Grocery, which he operated for 45 years.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson, Kentucky at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 01, 2019 with Emmitt Campbell officiating. Harvey will be laid to rest in the Jackson Cemetery at Jackson, Kentucky with family and friends serving as the pallbearers. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at 6:00 PM with special singing at 7:00 PM.
