Obituary for Delmar Thomas
Delmar Thomas, age 80 of Highway 30 West - Jackson, Kentucky, passed away Friday, October 18, 2019 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Delmar was born on July 11, 1939 to the late Reed and Lula Riley Thomas. He was a member of Christ Fellowship Church and a retired Carpenter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years: Emma Lou Back Thomas of Jackson, Kentucky; two daughters: Billie Jo (Harlis) Combs of Jackson, Kentucky and Sherrie (Robert) Stewart of Jackson, Kentucky; five grandchildren: Charles Andrew Mitchell, Megan Jo (Danny) Huff, Amanda Rae (Jordan) Burch, Faith (Wayne) Noble, and Hannah Stewart; five great grandchildren: River, Deemie, Emma, Greyson, and Ezekiel; one sister: Cleta Halsey of Franklin, Ohio; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Reed and Lula Riley Thomas, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Reed Thomas Jr., and Billy Gene Thomas.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson, Kentucky at 11:00 AM on Monday. October 21, 2019 with Dennis Creech officiating. Delmar will be laid to rest in the Jackson Cemetery at Jackson, Kentucky with Sherrie Stewart, Wayne Noble, Jordan Burch, Danny Huff, Andy Mitchell, and Billie Jo Combs serving as Pallbearers and Daniel Schouse, Harlis Combs, Robert Stewart, Annette Chambers, and Ray Barnett serving as Honorary Pallbearers. Friends may visit the funeral home at 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM on Sunday, October 20, 2019.
