Obituary for Chester Clay Howard
Chester Clay Howard, age 92 passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Hazard ARH in Hazard, KY. Chester was a Veteran of WWII and a retired coal miner. Chester is the son of the Late Elijah and Mary Alice Salyers Howard and the husbnad of the Late Imogene Spicer Howard. Chester is survived by a daughter: Alice (Gary) Sellers - New Mexico; two sisters: Susie Johnson - Ft. Thomas, KY and Texas Berchfield - Tennessee; a brother: William Clint (Edna) Howard - Jackson, KY; a special brother-in-law: Howard (Marilyn) Spicer - Florence, KY; four sister-in-laws: Eva Hall - Newport, KY, Geraldine Griffith - Alexandria, KY, Texas Collins - Alexandria, KY, and Betty Hill - Alexandria, KY; a hosts of nieces and nephews, as well as family and friends. Chester is preceded in death by his wife Imogene Howard, parents Elijah and Mary Alice Howard, a sister, Mary and brothers Dexter, Charlie, and Ollie. Visitation for Chester will be Monday, June 10, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. with additional services to follow at 6:30 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Watts Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Sam Faulkner officiating. Burial will follow at the Jackson Cemetery in Jackson, KY.
