Obituary for Bernie Napier
Bernie Napier, age 80 of Manchester, Kentucky - formerly of Breathitt County, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2019 at Hazard ARH in Hazard, Kentucky,
Bernie was born on April 10, 1939 to the late Goodloe and Bertha Smith Napier. He was a retired Train Loader.
He is survived by three daughters: Tina (Ricky) Hoskins of Manchester, Kentucky, Barbara (Doug) Kirkland of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, and Melissa Francis (Robert Hall) of Berea, Kentucky; four grandchildren: Amanda Barker, Ashley Gross, Michael Hoskins, and Jason Hoskins; five great grandchildren: Audrey Barker, John Barker, Maggie Barker, Alexis Allen, and Kolby Bennett; three sisters: Ruth Williams of Noctor, Kentucky, Thelma Sevick of Michigan, and Louise Church of Berea, Kentucky; one brother: Chester Napier of Jackson, Kentucky; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Goodloe and Bertha Smith Napier, he was preceded in death by his wife, Alice Little Napier, one son, Bernie Ray Napier Jr., one grandson, Brett Kirkland, one sister, Martha Ann Landrum, and three brothers, James Napier, Willie Napier, and Dallas Napier.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson, Kentucky at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 with Pastor Gary Bellamy officiating. Bernie will be laid to rest in the Jackson Cemetery at Jackson, Kentucky with John Barker, Mike Hoskins, Robert Hall, Doug Kirkland, Jason Hoskins, and Ricky Hoskins serving as Pallbearers. Friends may visit the funeral home at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, October 22, 2019.
