Obituary for Avis Terry
Avis Terry, age 85 of Campton, Kentucky, passed away Saturday, January 25, 2020 at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky.
Avis was born on February 18, 1934 to the late Hillard and Maggie Bryant Hensley. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by one daughter: Connie (Jason) Morris of Campton, Kentucky; two sons: Franklin B. (Cindy) Terry of Indiana and Larry Terry of Campton, Kentucky; nine grandchildren: Marty Terry, Tammy Woodmansee, Frank Terry II, Angel Terry, Laiken Terry, Hailey Terry, Jerica Morris, Makayla Morris, and Jason Morris II; fifteen great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; three sisters: Vickie Fugate, Mary Lou Collins, and Evalee Wilson; a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents Hillard and Maggie Bryant Terry, she was preceded in death by her husband George Terry; two daughters, Edna Terry and Wilda Lee Terry; three sons, George Stevenson Terry, James Phillip Terry, and Edgar Terry; two grandchildren, Mickey Stevenson Terry and Christopher Dwayne Terry; three brothers, Burchell Hensley, C.B Hensley, and Elmer Hensley; and three sisters, Mandy Watkins, Edna Mae Childers, and Pauline Hensley.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson, Kentucky at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 with Billy Ray Hensley officiating. Avis will be laid to rest in the Hugh Bryant Cemetery at Athol, Kentucky with family and friends serving as Pallbearers. Friends may visit the funeral home at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, January 28, 2020.
