Obituary for Allene Brown
Allene Brown, age 88, of Jackson, Kentucky, beloved wife of the late Roy Brown, passed away Friday, October 7, 2016 at Greg & Noreen Wells Hospice Care in Hazard, Kentucky.
Allene was born on October 22, 1927 to the late Mike and Betty (Blair) Gabbard. She was a homemaker and a member of Little Cane Creek Baptist Church.
She is survived by four children, Dennis (Eunice Hall) Brown of Morehead, Kentucky; Brenda Brown of Panama City, Florida; David (Lana Barker) Brown of Edinburg, Indiana; Sandy Brown and Paul Noble of Jackson, Kentucky; five grandchildren, Greg (Shelley) Brown of Jackson, Kentucky; Angie Brown Caudill and husband, Steve Caudill of Morehead, Kentucky; Jason Noble and friend, Jen of Florence, Kentucky; Brandon Williams of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida; Amie Williams of Richmond, Virginia; five great grandchildren, Jordan Davis, Justin Davis, Addison Davis, Taylor Brown, Kayleigh Brown; three sisters, Grace South, Geraldine Combs, and Carlene Roberts, all of Jackson, Kentucky; two brothers, Gene (Rita) Gabbard of Cincinnati, Ohio; Phillip (Clara Hall) Gabbard of Jackson, Kentucky; special friends, Margaret Hubbard and daughters, Krista and Susan, and Rhett and Gina Griffith; and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her husband, Roy Brown and parents, Mike and Betty Gabbard, Allene was also preceded in death by sisters, Sarah Moore, Wanda Gabbard, and Nancy Garland; and special friend, Curtis Jett.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson, Kentucky at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2016 with Mitchell Lockard officiating. Friends may visit the funeral home after 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2016.
