Obituary for Gloria "Jeanie" Prater
Gloria “Jeanie” Prater, age 70, beloved wife of the late Willie Prater, passed away, Monday, July 9, 2018 at her residence.

Jeanie was born on December 10, 1947 to the late Pierce Hays and Lucetta Jane (Hamilton) Hays. She was a retired school teacher.

She is survived by two daughters: Samantha (Dean) Haddix of Jackson, Kentucky; and Tina Prater of Jackson, Kentucky; two sons: Willie Prater Jr. of Jackson, Kentucky; and Anthony Prater of Jackson, Kentucky; two sisters: Leola Prater of Jackson, Kentucky; and Beverly Hays of Tennessee; three grandchildren: Tara Sky Haddix, Tabatha Stamper, and Marie Coomer; five great-grandchildren: Charles Trey Mayes, Austin Stamper, Olivia Coomer, Andrew Coomer, and Ethan Coomer; a host of nieces, and nephews; and many other loving relatives, and friends.

In addition to her husband, Willie Prater; and parents, Pierce and Lucetta Hays, Jeanie was preceded in death by one brother, Perry Hays.

Funeral services will be conducted at the Watts Funeral Home Chapel in Jackson, Kentucky at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 with Eldon Miller officiating. Jeanie will be laid to rest in the Hardin Cemetery at South Fork, Kentucky with Anthony Prater, Willie Prater Jr., Dean Haddix, Dial Prater, Michael Prater, Kenneth Scott Coomer, and Lonnie Stamper serving as pallbearers. Friends may visit the funeral home after 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 10, 2018.
